What is FMAC?
Foothills Mutual Aid Co-operative (FMAC) is an organization comprised of oil & gas operators, local government agencies, and provincial government agencies. We have established mutual aid understandings to assist each other during emergency situations.
Thanks to the groups that create FMAC, our organization is well trained in hazard recognition and corrective actions, as well as addressing emerging trends to prevent any and future incidents from occurring.
Our Objective
“To enhance public protection & communication through mutual aid response of member agencies in the designated area.”
FMAC Service Areas
With a total of 5 areas, FMAC’s service region encompasses a large portion of the M.D. of Greenview.
West to the British Columbia border, east towards Hwy 43, north to Grovedale, and south to Grande Cache, we are prepared to handle an oil & gas emergency in your area.

Foothills Mutual Aid Co-operative (FMAC) Members
Each FMAC member group works with stakeholders to identify the unique needs of the different areas within our boundary. This collective knowledge provides critical elements for the protection of the communities and the environment, with local area first responders, regulators, and authorities invited to participate in regular training exercises for mutual aid.
